oldkitchen is a product design and manufacture company producing a range of products from 99% post consumer waste. We focus on chipboard with formica and melamine coverings, these provide a surface which does not break down, can be wiped clean, and generally outlasts its first application. Chipboard invariably in abandoned into landfill after its first use. We provide a second life for these colourful materials by jointing them together into endless patterns. Most of the products are then finished in hardwoods, again from old furniture. We collect materials from the local council and from Edinburgh's bountyful streets! All the products listed here are handmade in a workshop in Scotland.
